Beyond a Generation – Ghana is committed to protecting your privacy, developing and deploying technology that gives you the safest and secured online experience on our website. This Privacy Policy explains what to expect when Beyond a Generation – Ghana collects and uses your personal information.

This Privacy document applies to Beyond a Generation -Ghana’s website www.beyondageneration.org and our payment gateway providers, www.dpogroup.com  and www.paystack.com  and their Privacy Policy. Collection of your personal information
We are relationships architects; we believe the relationship with our supporters/ partners and the many beneficiaries is a life-long one. Our donors, sponsors, partners and supporters are an integral and valuable part of our work. Regular updates and contact are essential part of that relationship, to maintain regular contact and give updates; we collect personally identifiable data which include;

  1. Your title, name, email, phone number, postal address and postcodes.
  2. Financial information such as bank details, credit card details.
  3. Letters you write to us or your sponsored child/ children.
  4. Where you gave your consent or registered to sponsor a child, program or community or become our partner in any other form.
  5. Sensitive personal information.
  6. Records of your contact with us.
  7. Your consent to signup for regular updates and newsletters.

Direct Bank Donations/ Transfers
Your personally identifiable data will be collected as per the policy of our Bank partners (GCB Bank PLC Ghana), when making direct Bank transfers to Beyond a Generation – Ghana.

Credit and Debit Card Payment/ Donation Information
All credit or debit card details are entered directly into the www.dpogroup.com  and Paystack (www.paystack.com ) Ccompliance System and not stored or recorded in any of our own systems. Beyond a Generation – Ghana does not collect any credit / debit card information.

General Information
Beyond a Generation – Ghana collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as postcode, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites according to website usage. There is information about your computer hardware and software that maybe automatically collected which include, but is not limited to: your browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of Beyond a Generation – Ghana website.

Collection of Personal Information
The information on each of our supporters is provided directly from them. This can be, but is not limited to:

  1. signing up to sponsor a child with us.
  2. signing up for more information on our website.
  3. signing up for newsletters on our website.
  4. Registering to visit the Bamboi village on a mission trip/ safari tour of the Northern Savannah Region of Ghana on our website.
  5. by donating via our website, over the phone (MTN Mobile Money) or in a meeting where Beyond a Generation – Ghana is featured.
  6. by using any of our website and online platforms/ services.
  7. by volunteering or accepting employment with Beyond a Generation – Ghana.

Where supporters show a legitimate interest in our work and missions we want to facilitate keeping each one informed.

Use of Your Personal Information
Beyond a Generation – Ghana collects and uses your personal information to deliver the services our supporters have requested and to operate our website. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Keeping supporters informed about our work including news, upcoming programs/ missions and special activities.
  2. For the administration of our Child sponsorship program which includes sending supporters information about their sponsor child, letters from their sponsor child, information about important life events of their sponsor child or his/her family, responding to any questions our supporters might have concerning their sponsor child, acknowledging the gifts our supporters gave, providing the opportunity to write and receive letters electronically and anything else necessary surrounding the Child sponsorship program. If a sponsored Child cannot be part of the program anymore, we will notify our supporters and ask them to consider sponsoring another child who we will link with them.
  3. To contact our supporters to show our appreciation and thankfulness for their support. This could be done by mail, email, phone or text message.
  4. For processing the monthly sponsorship payment and any other donations.
  5. For marketing purposes, we may contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services or mission projects.
  6. To create effective partnerships.
  7. To keep track of the websites and pages visited within our website in order to determine what services are the most popular; to then deliver a customized content and advertising to customers whose behaviour indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area, project or mission.

Third Party Usage of Data

  1.  Beyond a Generation – Ghana does not lease, sell or rent her sponsors, partners or supporters’ personal information to third parties. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.
  2.  Beyond a Generation – Ghana may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
  3. We will ensure that there are appropriate contracts and controls in place to keep your data secure.
  4. You may use a third party to support Beyond a Generation – Ghana (example; Stewardship services, Charities Aid Foundation, Just Giving, GoFundMe, etc], should this be the case then we may need to be informed and to maintain contact with those third parties to ensure that your donation is handled in line with your wishes.

How long we keep your personal information
Beyond a Generation Ghana will keep your personal information only as long as needed and/or required in accordance with statutory requirements. If you have donated, we will need to keep your information on record for accounting purposes over a certain time span. Hard copies and sign-up information will be kept securely during this time. When the information is no longer required, we will dispose of it in a secured manner.

What you can do
According to the General Data Protection Regulation you can request the following:

  1. To be informed about all of the personal information Beyond a Generation – Ghana has on file about you.
  2. To have your personal information fixed and/or updated
  3. To ask for the source where your personal information was obtained
  4. To request the removal of your personal information from our systems (please be aware that some information need to be on file for certain time periods due to country specific laws, rules and regulations)
  5. To not be contacted anymore or to be taken off the mailing list
