John Okrah
John was born on 14th March 1956 at Bamboi; he attended Bamboi Middle School and graduated in 1973. He served as Clerical Officer with the Controller and Accountant General’s Department of Ghana – Tamale, becoming the Accounts Assistant and worked till 1989 when he was appointed as the Accounts Officer. He also served as the Area Youth Director of the North Ghana Mission of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church from 1984 to 1987, attending the first Pan-African Youth Congress in Nairobi – Kenya.
He also worked with the North Ghana Mission of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church – Tamale from 2000 to 2004 as an Accountant and as the Associate Treasurer from 2006 to 2010. He continued his undergraduate studies in Accounting and graduated from Valley View University in 2010.
John has over three decade experience in Accounting. He was the Chief Accountant at the SDA Hospital Tamale from 2006 to 2009 and from 2009 to 2011 he became the Internal Auditor of the North Ghana Mission of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church – Tamale
He became the substantive Treasurer of the North Ghana Mission of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church – Tamale from 2016 until his retirement in March 2021. He is passionate about individual and community development in a sustainable manner to help break the cycle of poverty.
His hobbies are reading, researching and music. He is married to Rebecca and they are blessed with eight children and nine grandchildren.
